Bitdeer Re-affirms Commitment to Responsible & Community-First Growth

As America’s demand for computing power accelerates and drives unprecedented economic growth, those of us building this infrastructure have a responsibility to do it the right way. Since its inception, Bitdeer has never required residential households or small businesses to subsidize the cost for grid access for its bitcoin mining operations. We will carry this core principle forward as we expand into building AI/HPC infrastructure.

As a demonstration of our commitment, Bitdeer has joined trailblazing data center developers, utilities and state leaders in signing the White House Ratepayer Protection Pledge. This pledge asks us to commit to a simple idea: if we want power, we pay for it. It’s how we’ve always operated - just as how we installed a new substation from the ground-up at our Massillon, Ohio facility.

Bitdeer’s self-funded substation at our Massillon, Ohio facility is power infrastructure we directly invest in to support our operations.

In practice, this means:

1. We invest in and secure the power we need without drawing down capacity for existing ratepayers;
2. We pay for all new infrastructure – every substation, transformer and transmission upgrade – tied to a Bitdeer facility;
3. We negotiate a separate rate structure with our utility partners and pay for the power brought online for our sites, regardless of whether we use it, where those markets apply;
4. We create real local impact through hiring, training, and procurement. We invest long-term in local communities, schools, and services through our tax revenue and philanthropy to ensure value creation and support continues well beyond the construction phase;
5. We work with grid operators to contribute to grid resilience, keeping everyone’s lights on, especially during emergencies.

We firmly believe the industry that’s building America’s next generation of digital infrastructure has a responsibility to conduct business in a way that earns trust not only from the government, regulators and utilities, but most importantly, from the communities that host us.

We commend the Administration’s leadership on this issue. The Ratepayer Protection Pledge holds our industry to a clear, public standard. Bitdeer plans to keep meeting it.
